My visit to the governor's mansion
Yesterday, I was at the governor's mansion.
That day, Governor Linda Lingle signed a bill raising the pay of substitute teachers, and all the subs were invited. Which is why I came.
When the bill was signed, all the subs surrounded the governor in a photo op. There was no photos of it in today's newspapers, though my oldest brother said he saw me on TV.
Before the signing of the bill, Lt. Governor Duke Aiona made a speech honoring the teachers.
After that, there was a ceremony to honor Hawaii's top students. Comedian/ radio DJ Augie T read out the names of the awardees. The awardees then went to shake the hands of Gov. Lingle and Lt. Gov. Aiona for a photo-op.
After that, I took a short tour of the front portion of the governor's mansion. (the rest of the mansion was off-limits to the public)
