More Dobelle Memories

I just looked at the Honolulu Advertiser, and still no announcement of why UH fired Evan Dobelle. What are they hiding?

While I was negative in Dobelle in yesterday's post, I do remember some of his positive contributions! He gave approval for the Academy of Creative Media which is teaches film-making and creating video games. Hopefully in the future, it can expend into teaching students about getting into the music industry as well!

Dobelle approved the building of a new medical school with a big building in Kakaako.

Also under Dobelle's reign, there has been a lot of renovations on campus, though Student Housing still needs help

My favorite memory of Evan Dobelle was the time he judged the Miss America contest and the campus feminists went apeshit over it!

I was so happy that Dobelle thumbed his nose at the Radical Feminists and got away with it.

I remember when Women Studies prof Meda Chesny Lind was a guest speaker in my Journalism class. She said that most of the women in her class was upset about Dobelle's beauty pageant judging. She said they were grossed out about the head of UH looking at women. I said those women would have to be grossed by every straight male!

Evan Dobelle FIRED

The President of the University of Hawaii system, Evan Dobelle, was fired by the Board of Regents yesterday!

Dobelle was hired few years ago as the savior to this university, as the antidote to the stale Kenneth Mortimer who had no big picture plan for improving the university. But it is Dobelle who left in a lot bigger disgrace than Mortimer. At least Mortimer knew when it was time to go, and he resigned!

And Dobelle being the idiot, made the endorsement TV ad for looser candidate Mazie Hirono! That's not a UH President is for? Keep politics out of this university mister!

And Dobelle had an idiotic proposal to move Aloha Stadium to Kapolei. It's bad enough that the current location in Halawa is far from the university, putting in Kapolei is even worse! I can't believe there are people out there who defend that idea!

ANd that logo, which used an out-of-touch mainland company to design it! And Dobelle gave a wise-ass answer when asked why didn't UH let students design a new logo!

Hopefully, we find a better Prez!

Karl Malone and Magic Johnson

 Upset over the recent losing streak of the LA Lakers, ex-player and part owner Magic Johnson criticized the team for not being mentally prepared! Then Johnson criticized LA Lakers player Karl Malone for pointing a finger into the Detroit Piston fan's face!

Excuse me, Magic, but weren't you the one who purposely bumped into a referee after he made a call you didn't like? That was during your 3rd comeback as a player back in 1996!
