database man out of his league

Some people are great at one thing, and they get promoted to jobs that are totally above and beyond their competencies!

For example, We see great assistant coaches fail as head coaches! (ie. Norm Chow) We seen the case of former Apple store executive fail as the CEO of JC Penney's.

And here at UH-Manoa , we have an expert on databases and informatics being placed in a similar position.

(His name: Dr Rich Gazan)

Don't get me wrong, he was great in teaching the database searching class! You could feel his passion and you know he had real work experience in the field! I loved that class, big time!

But he also taught the Library Management! His passion wasn't there! It was obvious he was going through the motions! Whereas this a class about library management,
NEVER did he talk about "when I was a library manager" because he had ZERO practical experience managing a library!

He even admitted to me (behind closed doors)  that he had no experience managing a library staff!

All he could do was talk about theory and come up with filler activities that had nothing to do with managing libraries!

His groupies defend him with "but he managed this and he so smart". So what? You want a library manager to teach a class about running an auto repair shop? HELL NO!   So why have a library management course be taught by some database genius who has ZERO experience managing a library staff?

---------------

Also, I did find it disturbing in the LIS 650 class , Dr. Rich Gazan opened the 1st day of class with "tell me about a boss that you didn't like". He was probably thinking "I want to discuss what can go wrong with management" but that's the wrong way to do it!

By asking ""tell me about a boss that you didn't like", he was pressuring people to talk about seriously traumatic situations that they might not even be comfortable discussing with closest friends, much less a room full of strangers!

Just goes to show why why counselors/psychiatrists/etc go through specialized training, none of which condones pressuring the entire class to discuss their traumatic moments in front of everyone!

------------

And then, when the former LIS Program Chair got burned out, Mr database man  (aka Dr Rich  Gazan) took over! So now we got an LIS Chair who had no library managing experience and whose main passion is database and informatics.

That's like having botany expert run the zoology dept. I mean they have their similarities, but it's not the same thing!

So here we have this Ivory Tower expert handling things that are way outside of his area of expertise!

---
Now, this blog post is a bigger risk than the ones about "Professional Victim Professor" (aka Dr Noriko Asato)

Links about "Professional Victim Professor"
http://pablowegesend.blogspot.com/2015/05/professional-victim-professor.html
http://pablowegesend.blogspot.com/2015/06/professional-victim-professor-part-2.html
http://pablowegesend.blogspot.com/2015/07/professional-victim-professor-part-3.html

While Noriko Asato uses her small size as a crutch to play victim, Dr Gazan is physically bigger than I am. He looks like he played linebacker in American football, or played rugby, water polo or some other physical sport!  While usually has an easy-going personality, an even an easy-going person may not take lightly to these criticisms.  While he may be bigger than me, he's not bigger than some of the people in Hawaii prisons, where Dr  Gazan will be a  minority.

In my previous blog posts,  I mentioned this

As for the LIS Chairperson Dr Rich Gazan, while he is great in talking about databases, informatics and information science in general, he is way out of his league to even talk about library management, much less bring solutions to this problem!

He tells me that by sending the letter to HSL director about my side of the story about my problems Tisha Aragaki, then I'm "giving them ammunition". What he's really telling me is "how dare you refuse to suffer in silence". That's when I lost respect for Dr Gazan!

Irony is, when he approved Asato's stupid "contract of silence", he wasn't just giving me ammunition, he gave me nuclear weapons to use against him and Asato! Dr Chin know how potent the nukes I got from Asato/Gazan that he just told Gazan/Asato to surrender to my refusal to sign their "contract of silence"!

Dr Gazan even questioned me with "who do you think Ms Eddy going to believe - someone she worked with for years or some intern" as if I didnt think of that all when typing the letter! In other words, Gazan (and Asato) thinks people should be cowards and not try anything that isn't guaranteed to be 100% success!

You see Asato/Gazan discourages people from having courage. They both tell people that you suffer whatever life gives you and you should be discouraged from attempting to get better treatment!    What Asato/Gazan is telling me is "No Snitching/No Tattling".

The  "No Snitching/No Tattling" is a psychologically dangerous message and anybody who promotes such messages needs to be publicly exposed to the light!

So let me re-emphasize my points in a more clear way

Dr Rich Gazan when you  tell me "by sending the letter to HSL director about my side of the story about my problems Tisha Aragaki, then I'm giving them ammunition", sir that is equivalent to telling me  "Stop Snitching, Stop Tattling"

Dr Rich Gazan, when you asked me ""who do you think Ms Eddy going to believe - someone she worked with for years or some intern", sir that is equivalent to telling me "Stop Snitching, Stop Tattling"

Dr Rich Gazan when you  tell me "by sending the letter to HSL director about my side of the story" that I am ruining careers, sir that is equivalent to telling me  "Stop Snitching, Stop Tattling"

Dr Rich Gazan, you want to tell me messages that are equivalent to "Stop Snitching, Stop Tattling"? Then Screw You!

Anyone who promotes that equivalent of " Stop Snitching, Stop Tattling" is using the tactics of low-life scum!

Apparently, Dr Gazan's boss (Dr David Chin) understand that and over-ruled Dr Gazan and Dr Noriko Asato!

Dr Chin also earned my total respect for that!

So in one sense, I won, Dr Gazan (and Dr Asato) LOST!

Some will say "you won, let it go".   However, anyone who promotes the equivalent of "Stop Snitching, Stop Tattling" needs to be exposed to the light, because they are very dangerous to the psychological well-being of anyone they come in contact with! They need to be exposed to the light, so that they can't infect the next person in a situation similar to mine.

As for Dr Gazan's database expertise, while I find it very credible since he worked in online indexing and expressed real expertise in the field (unlike his library management class), he should have used his online searching expertise BEFORE telling me this "Stop Snitching, Stop Tattling" nonsense.

If he bothered to use his online search expertise, he would've known the following

  • I stood up to the biggest, baddest, rudest mid-level sales manager at Ala Moana Macy's and refused to take off my Santa hat even after she got into my face and repeated "take that hat off"
Learn more at Link 1    Link 2

  • When taunted by Nadine Chun (an extremely rude staff member at Palolo Elementary School), I slammed a few chairs, and then sent one of the biggest, baddest, meanest letter to ever question a senior staff member. The principal was on my side, even though Ms Chun cried to the police. I was NEVER prosecuted for this, as the police only interviewed me about the incident.
Learn more at  My battles at PES

  • I wrote a blog post describing one of the meanest co-workers ever, Jesse Newman. He is very dangerous and writing the blog post was major risk to my physical safety.
Learn more at Bullies of Summer Fun

  • I wrote "Exposed to the Light" which I made the most classic comeback to my school peers and teachers who verbally abused me!
Learn more at Exposed to the Light

  • I wrote "Public Shaming of Hawaii's bigots" which I basically called out a former classmate for being a trashy person, because of her racist remarks about another racial group. That classmate has one of the most vicious posts that I have ever read on my facebook news feed! She is an extremely emotionally disturbed person who could be very dangerous! My blog post was another risk to my personal safety!
Learn more at Public Shaming of Bigots in Hawaii

  • I posted some flyers around UH-Manoa about my dissatisfaction with the editor and faculty advisor of Ka Leo! After posting those flyers, I attended a public meeting where the editor and faculty advisor was present!  I yelled into the mic ripping them in front of everyone!
Learn more at Problems at Ka Leo (again)

--------------

So yeah Dr Rich Gazan, if you did your job as a database expert, YOU WOULD HAVE KNOWN ALL THAT!

And you would've known that your "Stop Snitching, Stop Tattling" nonsense will NEVER work on me!

Come on Mr Database Man, are you really so stupid that you though you can tell me BS like..................

  • my letter to HSL is  giving them ammunition
  • who do you think Ms Eddy going to believe - someone she worked with for years or some intern
...................and have me fall into your line of thinking?

Are you really that stupid Mr Genius?

Are you really so stupid to think I'm just another kiss ass?

However, Dr Rich Gazan, there is a way to redeem yourself .......................

Stay in your lane! Stick to teaching about databases!

Stay in your lane! Stick to teaching about information science, leave the library management courses to someone who can actually say with credibility "when I was a library manager....."

Stay in your lane! Stop telling people anything equivalent to "stop snitching, no tattling"!

You're not a gangster! You might be bigger than me, but some real thugs at Halawa can knock you out with one punch!

--------------------

Now, some memes about Dr Rich Gazan, to make him uncomfortable about doing searches about himself in front of his next database class.

By the way, all those photos were taken by me at an event, so I own all copyrights to these images!

The "genius" that doesn't understand that pressuring students/interns to -"suffer in silence" -"withdraw complaints" - "not file complaints against supervisors" ARE VERY PSYCHOLOGICALLY DANGEROUS TO THEIR MENTAL HEALTH!

actually approved a document telling an intern to withdraw complaint against corrupt supervisor

disapproved when an intern wrote a letter of grievance to the supervisor's supervisor. And you thought only rappers and gangsters tell you "no snitching"

Tells interns to suffer in silence, refuses to help interns mediate conflicts with supervisors

Dr Rich Gazan tells students "no snitching, no tattling, suffer in silence"

So, Dr Rich Gazan, is this how you want to be known?

This is what happens to corrupt officials who say stupid things to me! You should have seen this coming!

PS: IF  Dr Gazan, any LIS or UH-Manoa official wants to have a conversation about this will have to consent being recorded by my mobile device. Whether the recordings goes on YouTube or any other online forum will be determined by myself by whatever reason I choose!

Identity Crisis solved (for now)

In my previous blog posts, I detailed my indecision for settling on a stage name, in case my instrumental tracks gain steam and I become a celebrity!

You can read those posts at
http://pablowegesend.blogspot.com/2016/01/identity-crisis-nickname-edition.html

http://pablowegesend.blogspot.com/2016/01/identity-crisis-trademark-edition.html

-------------

Well I settled on what I think would be the best stage name, as shown on my Soundcloud page

https://soundcloud.com/pablo-the-mad-tiger-warrior

Pablo The Mad Tiger Warrior
screenshot from my soundcloud page

In case you can't read from that screenshot, it  shows my stage name ...... Pablo the Mad Tiger Warrior

I still wanted to keep the "Mad Tiger" name, but I also wanted to honor my university name, so I added "Warrior" to my stage name!

As for the "rainbow"  which also is part of the university name........................ I might incorporate into a song, or an album or...........................

......if  I do an album outside my usual genres, I might temporarily change it to rainboTiger Warrior!

.....just like how Snoop Dogg temporarily became Snoop Lion when he did a reggae album!

But yeah, call me Pablo the Mad Tiger Warrior

Identity Crisis - Trademark edition

A few days ago, I mentioned about  the 4 stage names I was considering for myself.

http://pablowegesend.blogspot.com/2016/01/identity-crisis-nickname-edition.html

The 4 stage names listed were

Pablo The Mad Tiger!

Pablo the Tiger Warrior!

Pablo the rainboTiger

Pablo the Green Tiger!

------------

But the thing about selecting stage names I forgot to consider is  .................................. has it already been taken?

OK, with a Google Search, I found there was no other "Pablo the (fill in the blank) ".

It's the last 2 words in the stage names that could be a problem!

----------------

Let's start with "Mad Tiger"

Here is what Google found

There's this Japanese movie about some crazy performers and there's a judo academy in Mililani!

But then again, I already mentioned about being "Pablo The Mad Tiger" back in 2003, I even named my 1st blog (before I switched to this blog) http://pablothemadtiger.blogspot.com/

So let's look at the other stage names

---------------------

Tiger Warrior!

Here is what Google found

"Tiger Warrior" is a novel that came out in 2009!

But I already declared myself "Pablo The Tiger Warrior" back in 2008!

But the novel writer probably won't know that and will probably take legal action not knowing that!

-----------------------

rainboTiger

Here is what Google found

There is a 2004 children's book titled the "Rainbow Tiger", which is supposed to be a story about a tiger that wanted to be multi-colored like a rainbow.

So yeah, I might get a trademark suit if I called myself a "Rainbow Tiger".

----------

Green Tiger!

Here is what Google found

So many Green Tigers! There's a vegetarian restaurant in Thailand, a marijuana dealer in Long Beach, a publisher in Seattle, and an Irish company dealing with fuel efficiency! Plus, so many images of green tigers!

-----------------------

Or maybe I should just give everyone's vocal cords and typing fingers more work by combining my stage names like

Pablo the rainbo
Tiger Warrior!

Pablo the Mad Tiger Warrior

I'm leaning toward the 2nd one, though the 1st one might work too!

Let me know, email me or facebook me!

Identity Crisis - Nickname edition

Back in my younger days, I wanted my own record label. I even wrote a few songs, which was my way of expressing my opinions before I started this blog!

However, time went by and other priorities took hold.

But now with my own computer and with Music Maker Jam app installed, I am now doing instrumental tracks online.

(hear them at my soundcloud page)

SO my music label dreams are coming back to fruition!

So it's time to talk about my "stage name".

When I first started thinking of having a record label, I wanted to be Pablo The Mad Tiger!

Tiger, because at that time, I was a student at McKinley High School : Home of the Tigers

Mad, because hey, Mad Tiger sounds cool.

Yes, i've long been aware of Mad Lion, the Jamaican dancehall artist, but I'm not even close to copying his style!

The during my undergraduate years at the University of Hawaii - Mānoa, I thought  - why not combine the college mascot and the high school mascot ...................and call myself..............

...........Pablo the Tiger Warrior!

I even announced the name change back in 2008
http://pablothemadtiger.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html#287258314802201582

Anyways, I have also been thinking of other "stage names"

For example, being that UH sports teams now have the rainbow  nickname again ......... I was thinking about   ...............
Pablo the rainbow Tiger

Sounds like a cute & funny name, however, that nickname does come with a major distraction, the same distraction that made UH Athletics abandon the rainbow  name for a while!

You see, back in 2000, then-UH Athletics Director abandon the rainbow name due to the opponent's taunting the rainbow name as a "gay name"

You can read more about that at
http://pablowegesend.blogspot.com/2013/05/the-rainbows-are-back.html
http://pablowegesend.blogspot.com/2013/02/uh-sports-nicknames.html

So yeah, I'm nervous that if I adopt the Pablo the rainboTiger  name,

that it will draw tons of questions of "are you LGBT?"

The answer is NO ................though as Jerry Seinfeld said  "not like there's anything wrong with that"

Though, even with the marriage issue settled by the Supreme Court, too many still see something wrong with it!

I mean, yeah, I'll defend the LGBT's right to be safe from violence & discrimination,

But I don't want to spend my career being distracted by the question about that one issue!

And dammit, I also like to be able to dance with female groupies without accusations of "over-compensating" and "hiding something"

But then again, I can just go back the original reason for the rainbow name

 ................. it's my university's nickname DAMMIT!

and it's a funny & cute name ;)

-----------------------

Or I can use my university's color and call myself  Pablo the Green Tiger!

Though, the moment I step outside not wearing any green clothes, I would get the "Saint Patrick pinch" and be bombarded with  "hey, why you not wearing Green, Mister Green Tiger?"

Green is also associated with the Green Party, a political party that is a bit too lefty  and socialist for my taste!  I mean, I do agree with the Green Party on some issues, but disagree on others!

Green is also associated with the environment! While I definitely want to keep our land, water and air clean, I do have a disagreement with some environmental activists especially when it comes to their anti-plastic jihad! Also, while I love renewable energy, I do think we still need to be realistic and understand that we still need some oil and natural gas ....................for now!

But still, green is my favorite color, plus... Green Tiger is unique!

------------

Anyways, here is my 4 "stage names" again

Pablo The Mad Tiger!

Pablo the Tiger Warrior!

Pablo the rainboTiger

Pablo the Green Tiger!

------------
So tell me what you think. Email me or contact my facebook!

Or should I be like Sean Combs have tons of nicknames?

Goals for 2016

AS mentioned in my Year in Review blog post, I have recently graduated with a masters in Library & Information Science  (LIS) from UH-Manoa.
http://pablowegesend.blogspot.com/2015/12/year-in-review-part-1.html

So obviously my goal is to get a full-time library job this year. There are opportunitie(s) I'm currently looking into, but I'll wait until anything becomes official before I make any announcements.

AS for substitute teaching, that will continue until I have a full-time library position.

-----------

Also mentioned on the Year in Review blog post  was my new hobby of creating digital music.  I have just created a few instrumental tracks that have been uploaded to my Soundcloud page.

I have used the Music Maker Jam app for the tracks I have created so far.

While both Music Maker Jam  & Soundcloud can be entered for free, the use of advanced settings (ie. more options, more storage space, etc.) require payment.   That will have to wait until I am done with vacation and am back to work.

I also want to try other apps to make digital music tracks too, in addition to Music Maker Jam.

I also found some music licensing agencies online that can help with music distribution (via iTunes, Google Play, etc) & getting access to publishing royalties (ie. payments whenever a track gets sampled or is used in advertisments, etc.).  Applying for an account is free, but getting advanced options cost some money.  Again, that will have to wait until I am done with vacation and am back to work.

------

So bascially, my goal is to get a full time library position, get paid, and use whatever disposable income I get to pay for my digital music making ventures.

It would be nice to get my music available on iTunes or licensed in ads so I can make some extra money, but for now, I just plan for music to be a side venture, not a full-time occupation.

----

As for other goals, I'm trying to lose the extra 20 pounds I gained during my time as a UHM graduate student. That being said, I have to get off the computer and get back on my bike right now!

Happy New Years to all!

Year in Review (part 2)

In the past, my "year in review" blog posts included both my listings of favorite songs AND important events of the year. However, that made those blog posts way too long to hold reader's attention.

So this time, I'll just put my listings of my favorite songs of the year in a separate blog post, in which, it'll be this one

---------------

Obviously everyone is talking Adele, her huge sales and her hit "Hello".

But my vote for song of the year goes to .................................

...................... Weeknd's "Can't Feel My Face"

That was the ultimate dance song for all the clubs this year!

I also predict this will be THE SONG that will be played right after midnight tonight at many clubs & block parties!

As for Weeknd's other songs, I think Weeknd is trying to be the early 80's version of Micheal Jackson with all the scary themes for the songs! Some are just too depressing for me! I'll just stick with his club jams!

============

Taylor Swift has long been known for her "I'm mad at my ex's" songs.

But she had a more positive loving song "Style" this year.

Taylor Swift "Style"

But for those who are a fan of her "I'm mad at my ex's" songs, there was "Bad Blood" featuring Kendrick Lamar!

Taylor Swift & Kendrick Lamar "Bad Blood"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QcIy9NiNbmo

-------------

I remember last year's post, I mentioned about Omarion's "Post to Be" (featuring Chris Brown & Jhene Aiko). At the time, I was so recent that it didn't hit the mainstream radio waves yet.  But it did this year, even with Aiko's "eat that booty.like groceries"  line in tact!

It was funny to read in an interview that Jhene Aiko made that because she was tired of being known for serious, depressing songs!  But that song exposed her to a larger audience who only knows her for "booty" &"groceries" line! Oh, well, be careful what you wish for!

Also last year's song that finally made the hits this year include

Walk the Moon's "Dance with Me",  which had a funny video and got airplay from not just the alternative and pop stations, but even some hip-hop/R&B stations too! It was just so good that it transcends genres

Walk the Moon "Shut Up and Dance with Me"

---

Justin Beiber was at a crossroads this year! He went from cute teen pop star to studio gangsta throwing eggs and treating the freeways like a race track in the recent past! It was time to show that he could make a smoother transition from teen pop star to mature pop star like that other Justin ....... Timberlake!

You know what? Bieber came out with some really good stuff this year!   He started with the EDM flavored track "Where are You Know", but that was just an appetizer for the even greater tracks to come, including.......

"What do You Mean"  - a very nice smooth track. I was very impressed with this one!

"Sorry"  - this song even got the 21+ clubgoers filling the dance floors!

And he ended the year with   .............. "Love Yourself"

----

Earlier this year, Ellie Goulding seemed like she was going to have Adele's status, especially with "Outside" and (from the movie "50 Shades of Grey") "Love Me Like You Do"

Had that song came out in November (instead of January) , it would've given Adele some serious competition for top female singer of the year!

--

Nelly, who had major hits in the early 2000s, hasn't had a hit in while, making people wonder if he still has in it him. So yes he does!

Nelly collaborated with Jeremih for a song inspired by Marvin Gaye's "Sexual Healing". Different lyrics to modernize a classic, making it into another classic : "The Fix"

--------

Speaking of nostalgia, Owl City has brought back the childhood joys of 90s kids like myself with his collaboration with Hanson on "It's Unebelievable"

Owl City w/Hanson "Unbelievable"

------------------------------=

The ones mentioned above are what would be mega-hits on my list

I'll just mention the other great songs under the category headlines

Other Pop/R&B songs

Eden XO had her "Weekend" song (not to be confused with "The Weeknd") with had that bubblegum teen pop sound, with the remix coming with the King of Crunk --- Lil Jon!

-----

Carly Rae Jepsen showed the world she's not just a one-album wonder this year, with "I Really Like You".

The video showing Tom Hanks lip-singing her voice was hilarious

---

Natalie LaRose brought that late80s/early90s flava with "Somebody" (featuring Jeremih)

She also had a slower song featuring Fetty Wap "Around the World"

-------------

Pia Mia came straight outta Guam, and made a hit "Do It Again" featuring Tyga & Chris Brown.

That song came with some minor controversy out in the Pacific Islands, because it had the same chorus as "Let's Do It Again",  a reggae song by the Samoan singer J-Boog!  Being that Pia Mia looked Latino, but is from Guam, some people took it personal that she "stole" their favorite songs. But J-Boog gave her permission to use his song for her song!

-------

Jason DeRulo had the song of the summer "Want to Want Me"

Other summer songs like Demi Lovato "Cool for the Summer" and Afrojack/Mike Taylor's "Summer Thing" were great songs that would've had more impact had they come earlier in the summer, or maybe in May when people are getting ready for the summer!  That said, they'll still be favorites for many more summers to come!

--------
Other pop songs

Halsey sang about the "New Americana, where the youth smoke legal marijuana and are influenced by Biggie & Nirvana. She even included the hook from Biggie's "Juicy" into her song! :)

Fifth Harmony had their girl power hit "Worth It" featuring Kid Ink

Ariana Grande's "One Last Time"

 Tinashe's "All Hands on Deck"

-----

Hip-Hop

The latest  new mega-star in hip-hop was Fetty Wap!   Coming straight outta Patterson, New Jersey!

He had hits like "Trap Queen" and "My Way" which I found the beats too depressing!

But he did impress me big time with "679" (featuring the Remy Boys),

as well as his song with  comedy rapper Lil Dicky "Save Dat Money"

Lil Dicky also had other funny stuff with "Lemme Freak" and "Sports"

----------

Wiz Khalifa started the year with making the ultimate jam for the club-goers "You and Your Friends " (featuring Ty $ and Snoop Dogg)

But then he showed that he can make serious & sensitve songs too, with his tribute to actor Paul Walker  with "See You Again" (featuring Charlie Puth)

It's great to see songs celebrating inter-racial friendships in an era where idiot activists complain about "cultural appropriation" & "micro-aggressions" any time a white person interacts with a non-white person!

-----------------

Talking about this so-called "cultural appropriation", we have Macklemore, long targeted by anti-white haters. As mentioned in previous blog posts, anti-white idiot activist Britney Cooper went ballistic when Macklemore won a Grammy in the hip-hop category!

Well guess what Britney Cooper, YOU ARE NOT the ultimate authority in hip-hop, the Hip-Hop forefathers are! And another GUESS WHAT for Britney Cooper.......................... The Hip-Hop forefathers are totally cool with Macklemore!

Proof? Melly Mel, Kool Moe Dee and Grandmaster Caz made appearances in Macklemore's "Downtown"

Macklemore with Melle Mel, Kool Moe Dee, Grandmaster Caz

And you know what else? I believe Macklemore deserves another Grammy for another his song "Growing Up" (his rapping advice to his son)

If anyone doesn't like it.................. well go make a better song!

 ----------------

Pitbull continued his reign as  Mr Worldwide with his party song "Fun"(featuring Chris Brown). He also had "This is Not a Drill"  and a song with new teen pop star Prince Royce & legendary J.Lo with "Back it Up"

And also from Florida is .............. Flo Rida, who  came back with his club banger "GDFR"  (Going Down For Real), though I wish his "Once in a Lifetime" got more airplay, because I was really impressed with that song!

----

Usher showed that he respects a woman's choice to work in the strip club with  "I Dont Mind" (featuring Juicy J)

-------------

Every year, there's a song that comes with it's own dance! This time, it's a song that combines the dances from recent rap songs. That combo song for the year is Silento's "Whip, Nae Nae".

But don't call Silento a one-hit wonder, because he made an appearance in Dawin's "Dessert"

 -----

Tech n9ne had a long career as an underground star who had great success without much radio airplay. But just like Bay Area legends E40 & Too Short did in the 2000s, Tech n9ne finally got a mainstream hit after years of underground success.  That hit was "Hood Go Crazy" (featuring BOB & 2Chainz)

 --------------

Did you like Nate Dogg's flow in the classic "Ain't No Fun" but weren't happy with Kurupt's ripping the mic with his misogyny in the same song?

Well, Tuxedo came to the rescue this year with "Number One", which basically has the same beat as "Ain't No Fun" but without the angry rants!

Tuxedo also had another great song "Do It".   I wish that one had more airplay too!

---------------

Nicki Minaj was mad that her "Annaconda" didn't get an MTV award nomination and played the race card! Nevermind that Dis N Dat (also African-American female rappers) did a MUCH BETTER JOB  covering another 90's booty rap jam "Whoop There it is", but without even 1% of the recognition that Nicki Minaj has!

However, I think Nicki Minaj's "The Night is Still Young" was a much better song

The song was much more meaningful and represents making great memories with friends!  THAT should've received awards!

Nick Minaj also had  a great song with Drake & Lil Wayne "Truffle Butter"

 -------------

Other hip-hop hits I liked

Ty $ with Charli XCX & Tinashe "Drop that Kitty"
Christina Milian w/ Lil Wayne "Do It"
Jidenna "Classic Man"

EDM

Zedd is back making great productions with star female singers. This time it was with Selena Gomes for "I Want You to Know"

Zedd w/Selena Gomes "I Want You to Know"

-------------

DJ Snake had a song with Dillon Francis "Get Low" which came out last year, but didn't hit until this year when it appeared on the "Fast 7" soundtrack.

DJ Snake collaborated w/ Major Lazer for "Lean On", a major EDM hit of the year!

DJ Snake also had "You Know You Like it" which had the sweet voice of Aluna George and the sick beat between the verses!

----

Diplo w/ Sleepy Tom did an EDM remake of the early 90's R&B  sexy classic by Jade "Don't Walk Away", though the EDM version is titled "Be There for You" bu the lyrics are exactly the same!  Too bad the EDM version didn't have the orgasmic sounds of the original (hint, hint)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HIJ5XvZeb-k

--------

Other EDM classics of the year

Chainsmokers "Roses"
Alesso w/ Tove Lo "Heroes (We Could Be)"
Milk & Cookie "Monster (Status Remix)"
Lost Kings /Jessame "Bad"

Rock

I used to be a major rock fan and I still like some of the classics. But rock music has faded from mainstream radio, and much of what appears in "alternative rock" stations could be better classified as "EDM" or "pop".

Sorry rock bands, but I just haven't paid much close attention!

But I did like Dirty Youth's "The One", which mixed the 80's style metal with some electronic sounds

I hope some new rock band can bring the energy of Andrew WK, the heaviness of Pantera and rise to the popularity once held by Guns N Roses!   That rock band would probably have to add elements of EDM, pop or hip-hop to at least a few tracks so that it can transcend genres and get major attention!

Anyway's my list of 2015 classics is just my opinion! Please don't take it personal if your opinions don't match mine!

Also, some songs that might've came out this year may not hit until next year, or maybe one of those songs that I might hear on the late night radio mixes but I haven't written the title yet!

One more disclaimer: I don't have time to input links for every song  mentioned on this post! Again, dont take it personal!
