Say No to Nicholai Khiterer

The following was sent to therapist Nicholai Khitierer

From : Pablo Wegesend
To : Nicholai Khiterer,

The following page is what I sent to your supervisors informing them that you are an extremely inadequate therapist.  A copy has also been posted to my blog at http://pablowegesend.blogspot.com to inform people that whatever problems they might have, they are better off avoiding spending their hard-earned money on your services.

This is the following page that I sent to the director of  Kaiser Behavior Health

From: Pablo Wegesend
To: Kaiser Behavior Health Services

This letter is to inform you of why I am no longer be a client of Nicholai Khiterer.

Before I came to Kaiser Behavior Health Services, I was a client of an outside psychiatrist, Dr. Steven Williams of Queen’s Medical Center. With Williams, I was able to share my letters and discuss my feelings.  I worked with Dr Williams from 1999-2003 and returned for one session in 2014.

With Khiterer, however, I found a personality that I find to be condescending.
He said he doesn’t want to spend time reading letters.
He said he doesn’t want to spend too much time talking.
He seemed disinterested in speaking with my previous psychiatrist, even though I signed a consent form.
He questioned me with “you want to change your father? I won’t help with that” in a condescending tone, whereas my previous psychiatrist would just say in a nicer tone, “I may not be able to change your father, but I could help you reduce the tensions you might have with him.”
He is not clear about what the next sessions will be or what the plans are.

Khiterer comes across as an "idiot savant". Sure,he was able to pass exams and write research papers (which made him academically qualified for his current position) but his people skills are just horrible for someone in his position!  He thinks that talking down to people is the best way to get people to improve their mental health. It has the opposite effect.

This letter will be posted on my blog http://pablowegesend.blogspot.com to notify any potential clients that this guy is dangerous to people's mental health!  This will be posted to let people know that whatever problems they might have, that they are better off not being his client.  This will be posted to so that people don't waste their hard-earned money being a client of an idiot-savant that talks down to pscyhologically vulnerable people.

If you have any questions please contact me  at (contact info deleted for this blog post).

Mahalo,

Pablo Wegesend

The only reason I only had one session with Dr Williams in 2014 was because my insurance doesn't cover his services, so I started using Kaiser Behavior Health (KBH). I started with KBH to save money.  Khiterer (under KBH) is a waste of money.

Unless you're with Kaiser Behavior Health, I will NOT answer any further questions about this issue!

PS: If your name appears on my blog posts in a negative manner, you are more than just an average annoying person, you are dangerous to people's psychological health!  You need  exposure to the light because a person like you thrive on the silence of their victims.  But now that I'm done with this blog post, I will now move on and enjoy the finer things in life!

Hook-ups and Fear Mongering

One of the major topics today is sports injuries. There are concussions, torn ACLs, injured vertebrae, dislocated shoulders and much more!

What if someone said "let's just stop all sports already"?

Wouldn't that sound stupid?

Of course it does!

Because sports, while it has potential for danger, also brings great joy and fun!

Now, apply that to a different situation.

Some Conservative Correctness activists say that "the hook-up culture contributes to sexual assault and therefore we should end hook-up culture of casual sex".

From Mona Charen
http://townhall.com/columnists/monacharen/2014/07/11/how-to-fight-sexual-assault-n1860914/page/full

Doubtless I will be accused of "victim blaming," but it must be said that the reason the AAUW, university administrators, the Department of Education and most importantly, young men and women themselves are so confused about how to handle the wave of campus rape (and unwanted sex) is that they've created a social environment -- the boozing hookup culture -- that invites bad behavior.
(and more)

Women are being victimized on campuses and off. But writing op-eds is not where their power lies. They can protect themselves better by staying sober and out of the hookup world.

Isn't that almost the same thing as saying  "sports cause injuries therefore you should never play sports"

Just like there's more to sports than gruesome injuries, there's a lot more to hookup culture than just rape, STDs and pregnancies.

A lot of people get great joy from playing sports and even more get great joy from hook-ups!

Of course, in sports and hook-ups, you have to be careful! It's best to know what you're getting into and to know how to handle awkward situations.

But to tell people to avoid fun situations entirely is just fear mongering!

Just like there are jock straps and helmets for sports, there are condoms, diaphragms and other contraceptives for sex.

And just like those who can't handle rough play shouldn't feel pressured into playing tackle football, those who are uncomfortable with sexual situations shouldn't feel pressured into "hooking up".

In other words, individuals can figure out what's best for them AND to change direction if they no longer enjoy the activity.

----

Plus, most of this hook-up culture stuff always leading to actual sexual intercourse isn't even always true! Most of the time, it's just hand-holding, back rubs, tickles and "making out" (kissing).

Even in nightclubs, places notorious for hook-ups, freak dancing and twerking, much of the boy-girl action isn't even going to lead into sexual intercourse. What happens WAY MORE OFTEN is one-song-stands which means

  • boy meets girl
  • they dance and rub on each other for 1 (sometimes 2) songs
  • they separate and that's it!

Not so scary, isn't it!

But it happens way more often than the scary scenarios that Conservative Correctness People always warn you about!

The Need for Peace and Quiet

In a person's lifespan, one can go from being a child that can't handle loud noise to a teenager that likes loud noise,  to an adult who gets irritated by noise!

I still like big stereos, block parties and nightclubs.

But jackhammers, leaf blowers, car alarms, lawn mowers, construction machines and anything that pounds irritate the living stuff out of me!

This summer, I'm spending a lot of time at the UH-Manoa campus.

Most of the time, at the libraries, which are  quiet as they should be.

But after a few hours of reading or looking at screens, I want fresh air.

Problem is, there are several renovation projects going on at UH-Manoa during the daytime, making it hard to find a place that has fresh air and peace & quiet.

And even in areas that are far from the renovation projects, just when I think I'm safe .....................................the leaf blowers and lawn mowers are making noise.

I think leaf blowers are over-rated. Can't the workers just use a push broom?

----------------------------

Just the other day, I was outside Aina Haina Public Library waiting for it to be open, so I can do a library setting observation assignment and a library program observation assignment. Problem was, while I was waiting outside, someone was using a generator-powered pressurized water hose was on the ground in front of the soon-to-be-opened Starbucks. The generator was loud and irritating as hell!   I had to go to the opposite side of Aina Haina Shopping Center be away from the noise until the library was opened.

Later on that day, when I finally went home, I called my mom (first time this month) and during the phone conversation, I heard a car alarm. Some guy trying to fix his car outside and his alarm was going off!  I was annoyed as hell!

Happiness returned when that guy got his car out of there!
--------------------

Don't misunderstand me, I recognize the importance of construction, renovation, road repairs and other noisy projects going on!

However, I really hope the next wave of manufacturing technology will be quieter construction and other machines!

YouTube and automated transcripts

If any of you have uploaded your own YouTube videos, you would notice that YouTube would automatically make a transcript of what you said.

Problem is that it gets it wrong. Especially frustrating if you mumbled, use pidgin or slang phrases, uncommon words or any added any non-English words to your speech!

To disable those automated transcripts for each video, follow these steps

1) click on the CC symbol
2) click on the box saying "English (automatics)"
3) click on "Actions"
4) click on "Unpublish"

---------------

Google being what it is, will probably change those settings in the near future, so it could be outdated if you're reading this a few years from now.

-----

Just mentioned the issue on facebook, someone already mentioned having the same problem with Siri, an i-Phone app that allows you to give voice commands to the phone!

Quick Bits

1) Busy month

This has been an extraordinarily busy month.

Even though I'm on vacation from my substitute teaching job, I am taking summer school at UH-Manoa.

I was originally planning to take a Moving Image Archive class, basically to fulfill a technology class requirement in the LIS program. That class got cancelled due to low enrollment.

But when one door closes, another one opens. I was able to enroll in an independent research class, on any library-related topic that isn't covered extensively in an LIS class. Since I was once a student helper at the Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped (LBPH), I decided to do the research on library resources and services for the blind and visually impaired.  I was originally going to focus on disabilities in general, but it eventually got narrowed down to the blind and visually impaired.

Independent research projects take a lot of work. You have to find your resources, set up interviews with experts, do observations and look up books and databases. That is much more work than your average class where the books/articles/assignments are provided for you. Which is why I haven't had time to blog much this month.

2) Sports news
I haven't had time to watch much sports games. I wasn't able to catch the NHL and NBA championship games.

For the NHL, there was an East Coast-West Coast battle between the New York Rangers and the Los Angeles Kings.   The westside won with the LA Kings as champs!

--
For the NBA, it was a rematch between the Miami Heat and the San Antonio Spurs.    Last year, everyone thought it was the last chance for Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobli and Tony Parker to win another championship before they get "too old" and retire. They lost last year, and everyone was talking about that as a final goodbye. Well, this year, they came up strong and crushed the Heat!

But don't count the Spurs out for the future. Duncan, Ginobli and Parker may only have a few years left, but Kawhi Leonard is a rising start.  The Spurs have been able to find under-rated talent and turn them into stars. Just like how the Spurs had a smooth transition from David Robinson to Tim Duncan, I expect the same smooth transition to Kawhi Leonard. The Spurs is a strong organization with consistent levels of success. They don't rely on mega-stars who were hyped from little leagues. They don't rely on mega-star free agents. They find under-rated talent and make them household names.

---

For the World Cup, I haven't had time to watch entire games, I only saw the final minutes of Brazil vs Mexico and Netherlands vs Australia

But I was glad to see the USA finally beat Ghana after the heartbreaking defeats the last 2 World Cups.

3) Team Names and Censorship
Keeping with the sports theme, the Washington Redskins lost their trademark. Some see this as a victory for racial justice.  While I do agree that "redskins" can be a racially offensive word, I don't think the government censorship is the right answer.

Sally Jenkins of the Washington Post
http://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/redskins/the-team-and-nfl-should-change-the-redskins-name-not-the-federal-government/2014/06/18/f6d6837c-f728-11e3-a3a5-42be35962a52_story.html

The Washington football club ought to ditch its slur of a trademark, voluntarily. It ought to do so on the grounds of basic decency and good taste, and, you’d hope, with an intelligent sense of history, context and place. If they won’t do it willingly, then the rest of us and their colleagues in the NFL ought to embarrass, jeer and cajole them into it. But the method currently being employed, the mobilization of the U.S. government in favor of a correct sensibility, is wrong.

and more

“At first blush, it might seem obvious that the USPTO should have the ability to deny registration to racist or vulgar trademarks,” wrote Gabe Rottman, a legislative counsel for the ACLU, last December in an essay considering the team’s trademark question. But, as with all things free speech, who gets to decide what’s racist or vulgar? That’s right, the government, which is just ill-equipped to make these kinds of determinations.”

You don’t really want government agencies to become the arbiter of acceptable words and images. You really don’t. The main reason you don’t is because, like it or not, what’s offensive is subjective. It creates “a morass of uncertainty,” Rottman wrote. Consider how many offensive violations someone could find in one episode of “The Family Guy.” Or “Game of Thrones,” or “Orange Is The New Black.”

4) Men can be sexually violated by females

In other news, Tucker Carlson, whose theme seems to be "hey, look at me everyone, I'm being politically incorrect"  thinks that all "female teacher and male student sex" is wonderful and great. Maybe he would've loved doing it with his female teacher. But Carlson does NOT speak for all males, regardless of his "hey look at me everyone, I'm politically incorrect" shtick!

Micheal Skinner was sexually assaulted by this one crazy woman, and there is nothing funny about the experience.
http://www.salon.com/2014/06/19/fox_news_destructive_ignorance_network_gets_schooled_by_male_rape_survivor/

As a teen — maybe around 15 or so — I was babysitting for this couple with four young children. He was an engineer and she worked part time, and they were living the American dream, if you will. And then they separated. One night, the woman came home, and as she was about to pay me, she pinned me up against a wall. Now, keep in mind, I’m 6 foot 4 and I’m a big guy. Back then, too. I could take care of myself. I wasn’t afraid of anyone. And I’m not saying that to try to sound macho, I am saying this because when this woman pinned me up against the wall and put her hand down on my crotch and stuck her tongue in my mouth, I froze. I literally froze. I was scared. I was in deep fear.
It seemed like an eternity but I know it wasn’t, it was just that split second or so. It took me a while to compose myself and push her away. And I couldn’t run out of that house fast enough. And it left me in fear, it left me feeling like I wanted to throw up
She was the perpetrator. This was an adult. This was a woman in her mid-thirties to early forties. There was a power dynamic. It was wrong. If a male did this to a female, it would be called rape or sexual assault. It was sexual assault. It was a violation, period. I understand people on these shock radio shows and talking heads on television — they’re saying stuff just to get ratings, but saying [teenage boys can't be sexually assaulted] is so wrong.

It also reminds me of this one feminist writer ( I forgot who) was belittled the idea of men being hurt by women in domestic violence situations by saying that "men are bigger, off course they can take it".

But size isn't everything!

Most of us remember some small but psychotic kid picking on a bigger but passive kid during our school days. It's not the size, it's the mentality!

Some people live for fights and power-plays, even the little guys.

Others are passive and fear confrontation, even the big guys!

So the idea that  "men always violators, women always victims" is BS!

Plus, not every man is big, not every woman is small!

I just posted a video speech saying that "I don't drink alcohol", and "you don't need alcohol to enjoy games or parties.
