A Sci-Fi Futuristic Vision

We've all heard some sci-fi vision of a future world.

I got a sci-fi vision.

In my sci-fi future world, women don't get pregnant. They'll lay an egg about an hour after sex. The egg will be put in an incubator and hatch in 9 months.

That means no more putting everything on hold for 9 months. Women will no longer have to take a 9 month hiatus from physical activity, including sports, dancing, or jobs in police or military.

I say lay eggs about an hour after sex, that way she don't lay eggs at work or in class. But that would also mean that she can't sex with anyone for an hour or so! I guess I could make it an instinct in men to not to have sex with a woman if she did it less than an hour earlier.

Though the eggs can be aborted, it could turn the whole abortion debate around. Being that the eggs are no longer body parts, the pro-lifers might have a PR advantage. Unless, the eggs are aborted before they are laid. Maybe a few abortion pills will do, to kill the egg before they come out the vagina.

Plus, laying eggs an hour after sex will make more women choose putting an egg for adoption instead of abortion. Think about it, the fact that in the real world, a woman would have to spend 9 months carrying a product of sexual intercourse. When that's the case, a woman who dont want to raise the child would rather abort it than to go 9 months of putting everything on hold to literally carry a huge load. This is basic psychology we're talking about here.

But with laying eggs, no need worry about carrying the huge load that EVERYONE will see. No need to carry a sign of non-absitinence that EVERYONE will see. If the woman isn't ready for parenthood, it'll be easier to put the egg up for adoption.

The whole idea will be good for the men as well. I'm assuming the main reason women would refuse sex is that they're not ready to literally carry a heavy burden and put their life on hold for the next 9 months. Take that burden away, and get the abortion pills and condoms, there will be more sex happening. The males couldn't be much happier.

My 1st Hawaii Reporter editorial (on The Rail)

You can check out my thoughts about building light rail on Oahu at

http://www.hawaiireporter.com/story.aspx?e801cca5-cbf2-4882-8a14-9a57607c7340

Within the last decade, there has been major growth in West Oahu. Yet, the same people who moved to West Oahu still work in Honolulu, causing major traffic jams.

Because of this, many have supported the idea of light rail. Many have been dreaming of a light rail that runs from the Leeward side to downtown Honolulu or even to the University of Hawaii-Manoa. Those people believe that with the light rail, thousands will stop driving and ride on the rail. It should also be a faster ride. It sounds like a great idea.

But every great idea comes with its own dark sides. One of the commonly mentioned dark sides is the cost. Millions upon millions of dollars will be required to build the light rail. Our state is already in a deficit, taxes already high, yet people demand construction of light rail without decreasing the budgets of other government projects.

The government is not a bottomless pit of money, it comes from taxpayers' pockets.

We will have to pay even higher taxes on our income, property, food and other products. We will do this on top of the already high cost of living in Hawaii. That means more of my generation moving to the mainland while the rest of us are stuck with this burden.

Let's not forget that the H-3 freeway went way over-budget and took forever to build. Do we want to repeat the same history with light rail?

But what about federal money? Federal money doesn't come without its costs. The federal budget is determined by Congress and approved by the President. In Congress, the mentality is "I'll vote to fund projects in your state only if you vote to fund projects from my state."

And in Congress, to get funding for a light rail built in Hawaii, our representatives must approve of other pork barrel projects in other states. This means our taxes pile up.

But there's an even darker side to this light rail proposal that is rarely brought up in editorials. Where will they build the light rail?

They'll build it in locations where real people have their homes and businesses. It could be your home or your business that will be confiscated by the government through eminent domain. Your whole way of life will be ruined, all because of the utopian fantasies of others. It wouldn't matter if the government gives you the full monetary value of your property when they confiscate it. Your home is more than its monetary value; it's your memories, your way of life and a lot of other things that money can't buy.

I'll definitely be worried if the light rail runs to U.H. since I live in a leased apartment near U.H. Even if the freeways have been built on confiscated land, we don't have to commit the same wrong in the 21st century. The ends don't justify the means.

Of course, where is the support of light rail coming from. A lot of the support is coming from the commuters from West Oahu. A lot of them support light rail thinking it'll get other cars off the road so they'll get more room to drive. But thousands are thinking the same thing, so I don't predict much reduction in traffic.

However, we on Oahu already have an alternative to using a car to commute. It's called TheBus. I ride the bus myself and we could use more buses on this island. Plus, we don't need land confiscation for more buses. In fact, I believe we ought to allow private bus lines to compete with our city-subsidized bus system. This way, more people can get served and there will be new routes.

And the private bus operators can choose what union to negotiate with, or choose non-union workers. But don't expect that anytime soon, since the Teamsters union will go to great lengths to keep that from happening. After all, with private competition, the Teamsters will no longer get the satisfaction of holding Oahu hostage like they did last year with the bus strike.

Football News

I know football season is over, but some controversies ought to be addressed

1) Someone ought to fire Colorado coach Gary Barnett already! A guy who defends his rapist players and attacks the character and skills of their accussers has no business coaching a college football team.

It's a shame that Mark Price could get fired from Alabama for a minor mishap (partying with strippers), yet Colorado still hasn't fired Barnett who is indirectly allowing his players to commit sexual assault.

As for that female kicker who got raped by a teammate and left the team, all Barnett could've said was "No comment"! But no, he attacked her kicking skills. That alone tells me Barnett is a dumbass who ought to fired!

2) When will someone start female football in college already, so that a girl who wants to play the game doesn't have to put up with being the only woman in a team full of men. We already got female basketball, volleyball, soccer, teams, why not football?

3) Maurice Clarret isn't taking part in tryouts because he's out of shape? Then why did he sue to get into the NFL if he's not in proper shape? I thought he ought to continue playing college football for at least another 2 years, then go pro! He may have had a successfull freshman season at Ohio State, but that guarantees nothing in the NFL!

Left-Wing indoctrination at UH addressed

Today, the Ka Leo's news section finally addressed something that I written about in my editorials. That is the left-wing indoctrination going on at the University of Hawaii.

http://www.kaleo.org/vnews/display.v/ART/2004/02/19/4034679299582

And here's an excerpt of it

The pervasive student fear that disagreeing with professors will destroy their grade is something all three of these professors work against, encouraging students to develop and voice their own opinions.

Still, some students feel that bringing politics into non-political classes is questionable.

Michelle, a history senior at UHM, who asked her last name be omitted from the story, feels "many professors are anti-American."

As a more mature student, Michelle felt confident in creating her own opinions, but, she admitted, "freshmen coming in can believe everything the teacher says."

and

"I'd say it's (UH's political slant) is more to the left, but that's college education in general," said Charles Leaver, a senior in Information Computer Science at UHM. "There's some professors who push their opinion."

Leaver, who came from UCS, claims the atmosphere is much more conservative there.

"It crosses the line when somebody's brave enough to voice a different opinion and they get blasted," he said.

This editorial took me by surprise, since the news section has never address this issue before. But in a few days, I predict that Tobin Jones will accuse me of being behind this Ka Leo expose, even though I knew nothing about it until it was printed and distributed today.

And notice that "Michelle" didn't even want to give her last name. Why is that? It's the fear of retaliation from punks like Tobin Jones and his allies.

Tobin believes it is OK for left wing proffessors to intimidate non-leftist students into kissing their asses. Tobin calls that "supplementing".

Car Racing

Last Friday, on the H-1 freeway, 2 cars crashed into a big truck, killing 4 people, injuring 2 others, causing a huge fire and blocking traffic the whole day! The people in the 2 cars were racing when they hit the truck

Now, Hawaii lawmakers are debating what to do with those who race on public roads.

Some people we should just suspend their driver's liscence for 5 years. That's TOO SOFT!

Those who race on public roads should 1) be thrown in jail for at least 5 years, 2) have all their automobiles and auto-related problems confiscated FOREVER, 3) Never allowed to have a driver license for the next 5 years after parole, 4) be whipped harshly like they do in Singapore.

Some say that's too harsh! Excuse me! That's nowhere as harsh as what those public road racers do, which cause accidents and KILL OR SEVERELY INJURE INNOCENT PEOPLE WHO HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THEIR CAR RACES!

Of course, we shouldn't put 5 ft. 4 in. car racers in the same prison cell as a 6 ft. 5in. murderer. And we will give consueling to racers while imprisoned. But consueling without harsh punishment is useless to the public road racers. Rehab and punishment goes hand in hand! We cane their asses and let em know in no uncertain terms, the harsh consequences of public road racing to innocent individuals.

The police ought to stop wasting their time arresting gamblers and prostitutes and start chasing and arresting public road racers!

And the police should stop busting people for smoking weed at home. But if one drives while high on weed, it's jail time. Just like drunk drivers. We legalize drinking at home or in bars but we punish drunk drivers. We ought to have the same policy for marijuana!

More on the Super Bowl halftime show

Already, the religious fanatics at World Net Daily (www.worldnetdaily.com/commentary.asp) are calling the whole Justin-Janet act a form of "cultural terrorism". What a bunch of crap! It's not terrorizing anyone! Boo-hoo-hoo little kids are seeing Janet's breasts! So what? All the little girls will one day grow breast, and all the little boys will one day grow up and see women's breast.

Charles Taylor of Salon.com said it best

http://www.salon.com/ent/feature/2004/02/03/janet/index.html

And a letter writer to the Op-Ed pages of today's New York Times says, "As a country we are criticized by Muslim moderates and physically attacked by Islamic purists. They say our culture is morally corrupting. Did this show give them further confirmation?" To which the only honest answer is yes. Thank God.

Two days after 9/11 I ventured into Manhattan and saw, rising above an almost deserted Times Square, a Pepsi billboard featuring Britney Spears in jeans pulled low enough to show the straps of her red thong. I'm not a fan of Britney or her music but I will always be grateful to her for, in that moment, embodying everything the Taliban hates about America. It was vulgar and obvious and very, very heartening.

Of course, the radical right thinks that in order to defeat the Islamic Fascists, we must be more like them in sexual matters. I say that's bullshit! Being as uptight, self-righteous and asexual as those Islamic Fascists is only letting them win the war of morals. We should the opposite of the Islamic Fascists - meaning we should love freedom, fun, and sexual imagery!

If we end up like those religious fanatics at World Net Daily, the War against Islamic Fascists will no longer be freedom versus tyranny, it will be just Bloods versus Crips.

Super Bowl Halftime

I was watching the Super Bowl at my friend's house.

During halftime, there was Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake dancing and singing. They were bumpin and grinding, very stimulating but I didn't say anything since my friend's moms and aunties were there. I definitely wouldn't be silent if it was just my friends there.

Anyways, my friend and his relatives were so busy talking that they missed Justin exposing Janet's breast to a nationwide audience. I didn't say anything and I could tell they all missed it since no one said anything. I thought that was funny :)

Now, Justin said that act wasn't intentional! As of this point, I think Justin is lying. I think Justin and Janet planned it, but they didn't tell the Super Bowl organizers ahead of time for obvious reasons.
